Jean-Pierre Mouzon aka Grizzly Beatz was born in Los Angeles California on June 17th 1982. If you think the "Mouzon" name sounds familiar it is because his father Alphonse Mouzon is a well know jazz drummer and composer from Charleston South Carolina. He has played with artists such as Herbie Hancock, Santana, Miles Davis, Mccoy Tyner, Stevie Wonder and more. His music was sampled by P-Diddy, Murs, Beastie Boys, Souls Of Mischief, Tribe Called Quest and more. The apple does not fall far from the tree when It comes to his son Jean-Pierre Mouzon . Grizzly began making beats back in 2006 using an old copy of Sony Acid. He would sample old 70's soul records. His major influences at the time were The Living Legends, Atmosphere and Brother Ali. In 2008 Grizzly got his hands on the Akai MPC 1000 and began making music production within Logic Pro Studio. His love and passion for Hip Hop and the art of sampling is what keeps his music production and creativity going. In 2011 he would then move from the MPC to the Maschine. This transisition allowed for quicker workflow during beat production within Logic. Today he uses the following for his production: Korg Kronos, Stanton TurnTables and Mixer, Logic Pro Studio, Maschine, Yamaha Motif and various plug ins. Grizzly has sold thousands of beats to hundreds of thousands of upcoming and established artists all over the world, working with artists such as Chief Kamachi, J-Haze and Glasses Malone, Ready-Roc and Redman, Band Regal and more. He has topped the charts on soundclick.com and rocbattle.com. He is known as one of the most versatile producers coming up in the industry today.
